With some pressure you can move the clip inside.

Slide the cosmetic faceplate away from the door. Locate the hole underneath the doorknob shaft. If not rotate the faceplate until the underlying screws are accessible and use a phillips head screwdriver to remove them. Remove door knob without screws.

Depending on the door handle design the faceplate may be able to slide completely off. Look for the tiny gap on the side of the door knob. You should see a tiny slot or hole. If any screws are exposed during this process remove them to release the lock and remove it from the door.

Some styles of door knob will have another thin slot that requires a small screwdriver to free the cover from the door. Apply a bit of pressure to the paper clip to trigger a release button inside the hardware. Straighten a paper clip and insert it into the hole. Once triggered the lever or lock trim can be removed from the door.

How to remove a door knob without screws or a latch. Turn each screw holding the knob body to the door with a phillips. After you ve unscrewed or loosened the latch tug on the door knob until it pops out of place or disengages from the base also known as the rose. The door handle will now slide off.
